Founder of Glen Dimplex Awarded 2018 Oslo Business for Peace Award
We are delighted to announce that Martin Naughton, founder of the Glen Dimplex group of which Lec Medical is a part of, has been awarded the ‘2018 Oslo Business for Peace Award’. This annual award from Business for Peace recognises exceptional global business leaders who demonstrate the Foundation’s ideals of being ‘exemplary business leaders who apply their business energy ethically and responsibly in order to create economic and societal value’.
This award, which is selected by a committee of Nobel Peace Prize winners and Nobel Laureates in Economics, will be presented to Martin at the Business for Peace Summit due to be held in Oslo on 16th May 2018. The summit aims to bring business leaders, investors, leaders of NGOS, politicians and academics together from all across the world to discuss substantial and sustainable business contributions to society. The theme for this year’s summit is ‘Building Trust: Accelerating Climate Leadership’ – a theme that will be at the very heart of the event and will demonstrate the necessity of the topic within business.
During the selection process, the committee recognised the leading role the Glen Dimplex Group takes in creating renewable and low carbon solutions for heating, cooling and ventilation. Having personally received this award, Martin highlights that the entire Glen Dimplex group should take pride in the international acknowledgement of the work taking place with the company and the impact it is making in the battle against climate change.
Commenting on this success, Martin explains:
“I am honoured and humbled to accept this award on behalf of the staff and employees of Glen Dimplex who make it their mission on a daily basis to create innovative solutions that minimise our impact on the planet.”
