Features and Benefits

Greater Visibility of Data
Data from all locations (i.e. separate departments and buildings) can be centralised on the Kelsius web portal, providing users with an overall view of their monitored environments from any internet-enabled device. Certain areas may not have 24-hour supervision. If a temperature excursion occurs during out-of-hours, the Kelsius system will send alerts to personnel who can then access further information remotely via the internet, enabling prompt decisions and necessary course of action.

Reduced Cost
Data is held on the Kelsius server resulting in a zero cost infrastructure model (i.e. no need for computer hardware, network servers and software).

Kelsius provides a managed hosting service which reduces the impact on internal IT resources and enables clients to focus on core operational activities.

Whilst every site is unique, the sensors have a typical range of around 100m. Where required, signal strength and distance can be easily boosted using repeaters. Also, the Network Controller has the ability to receive data from over 250 channels. Hence large areas can be covered by minimal hardware. Remote maintenance capability avoids engineer call-outs.

Remote Programmability
The Kelsius web architecture is centrally updated facilitating rapid and regular implementation of new software releases. There is no need for users to download software patches and upgrades.

Data Availability/Security
Kelsius host the client’s data on multiple servers across multiple sites in the UK and Ireland. In addition, the Kelsius servers can control access and resources, to guarantee that only clients with the appropriate permissions may access and change data.

Easy Installation
The system can proceed without IT network permissions. There is no need for wiring, PC hardware or software. The new Configuration Wizard will enable real-time configuration of the client’s web portal by the on-site engineer during installation.

Easy to Maintain
The servers detect failures in the system and alert customers. Remote diagnosis avoids unplanned maintenance visits. A dedicated representative will attend annually to complete necessary maintenance and calibration visits.

The network connects to local ISP by modem using phone line, ethernet local area network (broadband) GSM/GPRS modem, and mobile wireless setup. It has a signal strength of up to 300m and 500m with repeaters for larger networks. The system operates on a proprietary Kelsius operating system and there is no need for OS updates or antivirus. Alarms via email, SMS, local audible/flasher, voice-call (can escalate sequentially if unanswered). It has full remote reprogrammability (OS and programs) and up to 250 channels.
These sensors are designed to be portable or directly mountable within the desired location. The unit has both internal and external sensors. Internal sensors are used to monitor core temperature. External sensors are used to monitor, e.g. surface (air), product.
Designed to monitor bloodbank storage units in the specific temperature range. The unit has both air and product sensors. Simulated product temperature is measured using a stainless temperature probe inserted into a laboratory bottle containing 200ml of water.
The K101P probe is designed to work with the K101A temperature sensor and can be used in water baths or placed in a buffer to replicate product temperature.
Records temperature compensated CO2 measurement. Separate temperature reporting is also available.
The door ajar and light sensors are designed to work with the K101A temperature sensor. The system can raise an alarm if the door is left ajar for longer than a user-defined number of seconds or minutes. Each door open event is recorded and logged.
These portable sensors communicate wirelessly with the network controller, even when buried deep inside storage cabinets. Temperature and humidity are reported.
The cryogenic sensor communicates wirelessly with the network controller with a range of up to 100m. The unit itself can be placed, for example, on top of the cold box/freezer cabinet and the 3m thermocouple wire can be coiled inside the cabinet. Suitable for liquid nitrogen applications.
For larger wireless networks, the wireless repeater unit enables us to extend the range of the Kelsius wireless network. The repeater is powered from 1A 12V mains adapter. Internal rechargeable batteries maintain connectivity in the event of power failure for up to 2 days. Up to 5 repeaters can be used in any one wireless network.
The alarm flasher provides a local alarm to enable quick alerting of temperature outages or connectivity problems. Each alarm flasher has an audible alarm facility that can be deactivated if not required. The AL1 alarm flasher is a wired alarm that plugs into (and is powered from) the network controller and so will be located beside the network controller.
The alarm flasher provides a local alarm to enable quick alerting of temperature outages or connectivity problems. The AL2 is a wireless alarm offering flexibility of location. The user is free to position the alarm anywhere within the Kelsius wireless network. It is powered by a 12V 1A power supply unit.
